Cosmo Hotel Mongkok. |
By 7:55 p.m., it was clear that I wasn't going to make the ferry. Not terrible since my consolation prize would be a night in Hong Kong, a place I'm extremely curious about and not just because they have their own Disneyland (though they do and I'm using the brochure as a bookmark until I save up enough of my pennies to go!).
By 9:30 p.m., I was checked into the Cosmo Hotel Mongkok in what is easily the smallest room ever invented by Man. My giant American shoulders barely squeezed through the doorway and after I'd done a quick sweep of the room to make sure Frodo hadn't left the One Ring on the bedspread, settled in for the night.
Nevertheless, I slept like a baby, took full advantage of the awesome shower/bathroom combo that was straight out of The Fifth Element, and complained bitterly to my toy dog about hotels charging for Wi-Fi. A good beginning all in all.
Jet-laggedly yours,
